Local Sightings Film festival
Last summer, as part of the Northwest Film Forum Script to Production film class, myself and about 5 other film lovers set out to make a short film in 7 weeks. Maxwell Bennett, Nam Nguyen, Jon Fry, Eric Reel and I started with Ariel Dreicer's fantastic script about 2 women casually running errands and talking about dating. We added a few key roles along the way: gaffer - Angela Brown, camera operator - Phil Engle, PA - Brandon Crane, cast it, set a weekend for shooting, and showed up ready to have a good time.
We had a great time - it was a very positive cast and crew, and we got to tell a little story around the streets of Seattle.
If you can, please come see anything at Local Sightings - all the content is shot and produced in the Pacific Northwest, and NWFF continues to be a central, welcoming place for independent filmmakers and students.
We're screening Saturday night the 23rd as Part of the Wild Days and Squalid nights shorts block. I'm feeling really grateful to have been a part of the whole Partygoers happy path.
